For over 25 years, Ripe Maternity has been crafting thoughtfully designed fashion for women on their pregnancy journey. Founded in Australia and shipping worldwide, the brand understands that maternity wear is more than just sizing up - it’s about providing essential support for the pelvic area, lower back, breasts, and growing bump. Many mothers find regular clothing uncomfortable, with larger sizes failing to offer the right fit or support. With a commitment to comfort, functionality, and timeless style, Ripe Maternity creates pieces that adapt to every stage of pregnancy and beyond, ensuring women feel confident and supported throughout motherhood.

This project in partnership with Ripe Maternity, won the Best Use of Search – Retail Ecommerce at the APAC Search Awards.
Ripe Maternity engaged Megantic to grow their organic search channel and attract new customers. Understanding audience intent and refining the buying language were critical for effective targeting.
Megantic was tasked with focusing on content and offsite SEO while delivering clear action points and concise reporting.

Our Approach

Our team worked alongside Ripe Maternity to deliver an effective SEO strategy, following three stages; Research, Implementation and Optimisation.

Stage 1 – Research Strategy

We focused on the target audience of pregnant women seeking high-quality, stylish maternity wear. Using targeted non-branded queries to expand reach beyond existing customers and broaden the number of indexable categories.

Stage 2 – Implementation

Created 122 new, highly targeted SEO landing pages to improve discoverability and conversion rates and optimised product pages for long-tail keywords to enhance search visibility.
We also developed and optimised store pages for local SEO and ensured all category pages contained contextual H1 tags, such as ‘maternity tops’ rather than generic terms like ‘tops.’

Stage 3 – Optimisation

Implemented a robust backlink strategy, increasing referring domains from 742 in June 2023 to 3,902 in July 2024. We also improved Ripe Maternity’s site structure and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) by expanding Collections to create more entry points for visitors and promoting backlinks to priority pages.

Year on Year Results

For Ripe Maternity, the Megantic team introduced optimised category pages, leading to a 46.5% increase in new users. The campaign successfully exceeded commercial goals, driving significant growth in organic revenue, transactions, and new user acquisition, showcasing the power of a comprehensive SEO strategy.
