Introduction

Scooter Village is an online and in-person scooter store, offering major brands and carrying a large range of scooter parts, accessories and clothing. They also sell custom scooter builds and have a fully equipped workshop to cut bars to size.

Insight

We began working with Scooter Village in February 2020. Like many eCommerce businesses, they saw a slump in users and sales post-COVID and approached Megantic to help gain momentum and get their online site back on track. Our top priority was to increase market share, which involved improving keyword rankings on page 1 for both new and existing markets.

Our Approach

Scooter Village saw a decline in sales due to consumers spending less on leisure products. We can’t create demand but we can ensure that we maximise exposure and ensure that Scooter Village appears any time a potential customer performs a search for a relevant product. So to overcome this, we employed an advanced segment strategy which opened up more entry points for users to enter (102 new category SEO sales points of entry).

 

We also:
  • Implemented the new onsite setup of website architecture with clean, best-practice URL structure.
  • Crafted unique meta descriptions that highlighted the USPs of each category. The aim was not only to aid rankings increases but also increase CTR.
  • Improved category pages by updating the text, internal links, and content for better targeting of new keyword clusters.
  • Mapped and executed thousands of 301 redirects.
  • Monitored and improved site speed and core web vitals issues, minimising scripts/apps and compressed files.

Year on Year Results

In the past two years (January 2021 to April 2023), we have seen great growth for Scooter Village.
